Inganzo Art Gallery, Kigali 2005
The idea for this exhibition was born during a meeting at my art studio with my friend and fellow-artist Rwandan Epa Binamungu, owner of Inganzo Art Gallery, Kigali.
We decided to create 50 pieces of art each, i.e. 50 paintings and 50 wall jewellery pieces, all of them small in size, or "Petit Format“.
No theme was chosen, just the size.
When all our work was finished, Epa brought his 50 paintings to my studio and we assembled them on the floor together with my wall jewellery pieces. And again like so many times before we realized that our artistic minds were very closely connected. Photo album
The hanging of the 100 pieces at the gallery on the following days just seemed to fall into place, the different works seemed made for each other and the final presentation on the day of the vernissage turned out to be striking.
